iCIMS Application Process Redesign

Project Summary Note:

This is a summary overview of an ongoing project that may include privileged or confidential information. A full case study is available upon request.

Project Overview:
This ongoing project involves leading the redesign of the candidate application process within iCIMS’ enterprise-level applicant tracking software. The focus is on optimizing the user journey for candidates, simplifying the application flow, and improving the overall experience for users applying to large-scale employers, including both corporate and high-volume hiring contexts. The goal is to streamline the application process, making it intuitive, accessible, and efficient for candidates.

Key Contributions:

  • User Research: Currently conducting in-depth user research to uncover pain points in the candidate experience. These insights inform usability improvements throughout the design process.
  • UI/UX Design: Designing a cleaner, more intuitive interface that reduces friction during application. This includes step-by-step guidance, mobile-responsive layouts, and the removal of unnecessary fields to ensure a smoother user experience.
  • Iterative Prototyping: Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to build high-fidelity prototypes. These designs are being continuously tested and refined with real users to validate interactions and ensure usability.
  • Improved Accessibility: Enhancing accessibility features to ensure the application process is inclusive and compliant with WCAG standards, making it usable for individuals with a range of abilities.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Application abandonment rates will decrease due to a more intuitive and efficient process flow.
  • Conversion rates and overall user satisfaction will increase as a result of a simplified, candidate-friendly experience.
  • The redesign will allow the platform to scale more effectively across varied employer requirements and recruiting models.
